North Iowa Fair Help List

Students planning on being in Ag Class next fall are expected to help with county fairs. Students are required to participate in two FFA activities each quarter. Helping with county fairs would be a good way to get those done before school starts. FFA meetings will not count for FFA activities.

State Convention

State Convention Reminders!
  1. We will leave at 5:00pm on Wednesday, April 15th
  2. You need to have a Field Trip Permission form filled out for both days
  3. You will need to have $35 payable to West Fork FFA before we go.
  4. You also need to have the behavior contract signed by you and your parents.

FFA Sub-district Results

Thank you to all the members who helped with FFA Sub-districts on March 2nd at the high school. For those participating great job!! We advanced six events to Districts on March 14 at NIACC. Those advancing are as follows; Brittany J. in Job Interview, Holly H. in Public Speaking, Kaylee R. in Extemp. Speaking, Michelle S. in Creed Speaking, Sean S. in Ag Sales and Becky S. in Ag Broadcasting. Way to go!! The Conduct of Meetings team of Taylor T., Emily D., Amy S., Jacob L., Brooke F., Shannon O., and Taryn R. got a silver rating. The Program of Activities Team consisting of Holly H., Margo S., and Lindsey P. got bronze rating. We did a tremendous job in all Career Development Events and you should all be very proud.

State Degree Results and District Officer Interview Results

Congratulations to Sam D., Ryan L., Chris N., and Kylea T. on being approved to recieve their state degrees after district review last night. They will recieve their award at the State FFA Leadership Conference in Des Moines in April. Way to Go!!!

Holly H. was slated for District officer and the office will be voted on in March at District Convention. Good Luck!!

1/22/09 FFA Meeting Minutes

Brittany called the meeting to order at 6:54pm

Following items were motioned, discussed and voted on.
  1. Officer Applications will be available shortly and officer elections will be held at the March Meeting
  2. Sophomores and Juniors interested in WLC will have to fill out an application. They will then be selected to a special committtee to look into fundraising
  3. National FFA Week is Feb. 21-26. Following are the days for National FFA Week - Mon. is Redneck Day - Tues. is Blue -n- Gold Day - Wed. is Cowboy Day - Thurs. is Official Dress Day and Fri. is "Represent" your tractor day.
  4. National FFA Week Activities - Eighth grade recruitment, Elementary coloring contest, possibly Ag Olympics (approval from Mr. Bushbaum)
  5. Presentation to the school board
  6. T-shirt design #2 option was selected
  7. FFA Scholarship rules established for chapter scholarship - Submit an application, been an active member for all four years, sold FFA fruit all four years and the amount will be decided each year. This year's amount will be $200.

State Degree Applications

We need to start fine tuning your SAE records and start filling out the state degree application. We will probably have to sacrifice some Saturdays coming up.

FFA Sub-districts

FFA Members that are doing Career Development Events at Sub-districts. We need to start practicing after school or sport practices.
